About Stars of Orion

ELK Studios have produced and released another stellar title in Stars of Orion. This slot is played on an eight reel, six row grid and pays for clusters of five or more matching symbols. It is even possible to land more than one cluster in the same spin. The most you can win at any time is up to 10,000x your total stake with the best wins typically occurring during the free spins round.

The game has a constellation theme and takes its name from the collection of stars named after a hunter from Greek mythology. Behind the grid, we can see Stone Henge style tablets. Play takes place at night with all the stars shining brightly in the cool evening sky. The music that plays while you spin sounds like a nineties video game and perfectly suits the feel of the slot.

The game’s symbols include lower paying coloured orbs that come in purple, green, blue and red. Making up the higher value symbols are birds, wolves, deer and 7s. The last of these is the most valuable symbol, with a cluster of 15 or more paying out with up to 200x your total stake. There is a wild symbol in the game which can be identified as having a W on it. This can substitute all other symbols except the Bonus scatter. Features of the game revolve around these symbols as well as Super symbols, a B Bonus scatter and a Super Bonus scatter.

As with other slots out there, such as Bompers , this game features avalanching icons where any symbols that form part of a winning cluster are removed from view in an explosion before new ones drop in to take their place. With any luck, these too will form a winning cluster. This process repeats until no new wins are made.

Stars of Orion Bonus Features

Three or more bonus symbols are enough to trigger the Free Drops bonus game. 10 free spins are awarded. During the bonus round, the game’s Magic Meter progress remains persistent and will not reset between spins. This will make it easier to build multipliers that can go as high as 64x, as well as letting you take advantage of five magic features. To trigger the Super Free Drops Bonus round, you will need to land three Super Bonus symbols which have red frames around them.

When you form a winning cluster, the winning symbols are added to the Magic Meter that is located on the right side of the grid. On top of the multipliers, this can deliver some Magic features. These include the Symbol Swap feature where adjacent symbols can swap places to create winning clusters and the Orion’s Belt feature where three wilds are added on each spin. There is also the Orion’s Club feature which adds six wilds and you get eight extra wilds with the Orion’s Shield feature. Finally, we have the Orion feature where 13 wild symbols are added during each spin.

21.co.uk Review of Stars of Orion

Regular fans of Druid style games will find something familiar here. Visually, this game looks appealing, with the added element of catchy music. It’s unusual to see a slot with more rows then reels but that’s what ELK Studios have provided. It’s not just about the look and feel of the game but also the number of bonus features that are packed into the game.

There are even more games from ELK Studios for you to try in our lobby. May we suggest, Mystic Orbs, Katmandu Gold and [Miss Wildfire] (/games/miss-wildfire) as a good place to start.
