About Misery Mining
From Nolimit City comes Misery Mining, a volatile slot that has a mining theme. Initially, the game starts out on a three reel, three row grid but this can expand to become seven by seven in size. At the start of the game there are 27 ways to win. Wins occur when at least three matching symbols appear on successive reels, starting from the leftmost reel. Once the grid size expands, you are able to land four, five, six and seven symbol combinations.
The game is a follow up to Fire in the Hole xBomb and also has a mining theme, as does Diamond Mine. This time the central character is, rather unusually, an angry dwarf on a quest to discover the ultimate beer recipe. There is a thumping soundtrack to this game which is set down in a mine shaft. On the reels, there will be the usual playing card royals ace, king, queen, jack and 10, each styled in a wild west font. The higher value symbols are smoking pipes, compasses, liquor bottles, rats and the angry dwarf, which is the best paying symbol with seven paying out 16x your total stake.
The game’s other symbols include scatters, Super Scatters, xBomb wilds and non-wild xBombs. xBomb wilds can substitute for all other symbols except the scatters or super scatters. When they explode, all adjacent pay symbols are removed, and the win multiplier will increase by 1x for the next collapse.

Misery Mining Bonus Features
The 3x3 grid will expand when xBomb symbols drop in and explode out the nearest edges. This is known as the Collapsing Mine feature. If there are no wins or xBombs present and there are less than three scatters on show, then the scatters will become non-wild xBombs, before exploding and triggering a collapse, increasing the win multiplier and moving barriers.
Landing precisely three scatter symbols triggers the Misery Freespins feature. The types of scatters that triggered the feature determines the size of the grid. Players are given the choice between Mouse Mode or Rat Mode, one of which gives you more free spins, the other gives you less but with added scatters.
Mouse Mode is the highly volatile choice, while Rat Mode is extremely volatile.
Scatters and super scatter symbols move to random positions at the start of each spin. Along the sides of the grid, reels one and seven are locked in side collector positions, while the bottom row also starts off as locked. At the top is a reel where random enhancer symbols can appear. If an enhancer lands above scatters or super scatters, they activate them in the following ways.
Coin wagons mean the value of that wagon is added to scatters or super scatter, followed by the closest locked position on the first or seventh reel. Multipliers increase the multiplier on any relevant super scatter. Any future coin wagon values are multiplied before being added. Bombs can drop down to unlock surrounding positions, this includes visible blocked positions, the bottom row or side column collectors.
If a bag hits, it collects all of the values on its relevant row, going from scatters to side collectors, and places this value on the triggered scatter. The chest collects all scatters and opens side collector values within three reels before updating the total win. When the dwarf lands, this attaches to the lowest triggering scatter and gathers all the values in the reel area and open side collectors within three reels for the remainder of the feature. The Rat can only hit on reels one and seven but when it’s activated, it walks down its reel, adding values to an unopened collector. Finally, there is a Super Scatter which appears on enhancer reels two or six. When activated, it moves to a random position on the active reel area. In Mouse Mode, it adds two more spins, while in Rat Mode, it’s three.
