Fire in the Hole 2 - What you need to know
Following the success of Fire in the Hole xBomb, it's no surprise that Nolimit City chose to create a sequel - introducing some great upgrades to make the player experience even better. The visuals and core gameplay might be very similar, but added modifiers and special symbols add even more depth.
The mining-themed game is played on a 6x3 grid, but with the potential for three extra rows to be added, there can be as many as up to 46,656 winning ways. With collapsing reels, grid expansion, and xBomb Wilds, you could dig up wins of up to 65,000x your stake.

Bonus Rounds in Fire in the Hole 2
Collapsing Mine
In the base game, you begin with 3 active rows per spin. Each Collapsing Win will create a new row - up to a maximum of 3 additional. Symbols that form winning combinations are removed and replaced using the Collapsing mechanic. With each collapse, new and existing symbols drop down to fill the gaps, possibly leading to more wins - and this continues until there are no more wins.
xBomb Wild Multiplier
The xBomb Wild can substitute for any paying symbol to help create wins. When the xBomb Wild explodes, it wipes out all adjacent symbols except for scatters. The wild's win multiplier will be applied to wins on the following cascade. All existing xBomb Wilds detonate before the collapse is triggered, except during the Wild Mining feature.
Wild Mining
When 3 to 6 symbols of the same type land in a vertical or horizontal line without forming a win in the base game, the Wild Mining feature will be activated. The symbols involved in triggering it are removed, while 1, 2, 3, or 4 wilds will land in the centre of the triggering combination, depending on the number of triggering symbols. Additionally, all symbols above the bar, except wilds or scatters, will detonate - triggering a new collapse.
Buried Features
Feature symbols - such as wilds, xSplit, or scatters are hidden within dirt symbols on the grid, with all dirt symbols initially inactive. The feature symbol will be activated when the dirt block is removed - either through xBomb explosions or the xSplit feature.
xSplit
The xSplit symbol will replicate all symbols on the same row by dividing them in two. However, the xSplit symbol and scatter symbols cannot be divided. Dirt blockers are removed if a collapsing win occurs where the dirt symbol is impacted by the xSplit effect. Additionally, used xSplit symbols transform into a random pay symbol.
Free Spins
The free spins are triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters, granting 2, 3, or 4 active rows at the start of the feature, respectively. You begin with 3 free spins, with each Coin symbol landed resetting the spin count.
There are several special symbols which exist in the free spins round, including:
- Multipliers: Multiplies the value of the coins found on the reel below the enhancer
- Dynamite: A times bet value is added to the triggering coin based on the count on the dynamite. Dynamite is then added to the reels where it can remove dirt symbols, double coin values and activate chests, depending on whether it lands on these relevant positions.
- Beer: Old coins are reactivated, triggering their respective enhancers for the upcoming spin.
- Dwarf: Collects all values in the area of the triggering coin.
