About Aztec Falls
Aztec Falls is the result of a collaboration between Northern Lights and Microgaming. It is played on a five reel grid that has three rows running across it and comes with 20 paylines. If you haven’t guessed already, this is an Aztec themed game, not too dissimilar to Aztec Spins. As well as all of that lovely Aztec gold, the game has four jackpots to shoot for. You can also trigger a multitude of bonus features as well as trading the jackpot for a chance at increased rewards.
The music that plays while the reels spin has all the sounds of the jungle. The grid itself is set in that very same jungle and made out of Aztec gold and is surrounded by golden idols. Increasing in value, on the reels we have Jack, Queen, King, Ace, then three Aztec chiefs with differently coloured crowns, in green, orange and purple. Then there is AF tile that, along with the Wild, is the game’s highest paying symbol, worth a possible 10x. As is often the case, wilds, which can be sticky during free spins, can substitute for anything - except scatters and the Aztec coin special token - to help you win. There is also a scatter which has an Aztec pyramid on it.

Aztec Falls Bonus Features
With two bonus features in the base game, four jackpots to shoot for, and a free spins bonus round, there’s a lot going on in Aztec Falls. First up, free spins. Five of these are triggered when at least three Aztec pyramid scatters appear on reels one, three and five on the same spin.
To activate the Coin Drop Bonus, you need to catch an Aztec coin on the fifth reel during the base game. When you do land one of these, watch as it drops to trigger the feature. Underneath each of the reels there are four boxes that contain bonuses that rotate on every spin and can be anything from wilds, multipliers of up to 5x, jackpots and stacked symbols. Whatever box the coin hits, that’s the bonus that you could unlock. Be warned though, that there are empty boxes and if your coin hits one of these, then no bonus will be given out.
The game also has a Cash Fall Bonus that can be randomly activated during the base game. With this, coins drop from the top of the reels while those bottom bonus boxes will now display either blanks or cash values. There are also four jackpots – mini, minor, super and mega – to play for.
21.co.uk Review Of Aztec Falls
At the end of the day, Microgaming – with a little help from Northern Lights – have created a beautifully looking and sounding game based on the ancient Mexican civilization of the Aztecs. There really is a whole lot to take in here, with four jackpots, bonus boxes and the coin drop feature. Of course, there are also free spins rounds that can be triggered, if not retriggered.
Microgaming are also the geniuses behind such titles as Mayan Eagle, Jungle Jim and 9 Masks of Fire.
